See What You’re Missing Out On, Tennessee: Missouri’s Cannabis Boom

Missouri's Cannabis Boom Not Tennessee's

While Tennessee politicians cling to outdated laws and keep criminalizing cannabis users, our neighbor Missouri is cashing in — big time.

Missouri Is Swimming in Green

Missouri’s cannabis industry is already booming, and it’s only getting stronger. According to the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services:

  • Cannabis sales are topping $100 million every month.
  • Since 2018, the state has seen over $4.28 billion in total sales.
  • In 2025 alone, sales are projected to hit $1.5 to $1.6 billion.

This isn’t just profit for dispensaries — it’s money being poured directly back into Missouri communities. In 2024 alone, about $240 million flowed into state and local governments through sales taxes.

That money funded:

  • Nearly $35 million for the Missouri Veterans Commission and Department of Health.
  • $23 million for Missouri’s public defender system.
  • Local services that benefit everyday Missourians.

Meanwhile in Tennessee, we’re still locking people up for a plant — and handing tax dollars to private prisons instead of veterans.

Missouri = Cannabis Mecca

Even the Wall Street Journal has called Missouri a “cannabis mecca.” With affordable prices, a regulated market, and voter-approved legalization, Missouri has left Tennessee in the dust.

And it could get even better: a possible federal rescheduling of marijuana from Schedule I to Schedule III is on the horizon. That would mean:

  • Cannabis businesses could write off expenses like any other business.
  • Smaller dispensaries could thrive, not just the big players.
  • Prices for consumers could drop by 25% or more.

That’s more jobs, more tax revenue, and more affordable medicine for people who need it.

Tennessee: Stuck in the Past

While Missouri builds an industry that funds healthcare, veterans’ programs, and local communities, Tennessee continues to:

  • Lead the nation in rising alcohol consumption.
  • Ban THCA and other hemp-derived products by 2026 to protect the alcohol lobby.
  • Rely on fines, arrests, and private prisons to squeeze money out of its citizens.

Instead of creating a billion-dollar industry, Tennessee clings to prohibition — costing us jobs, revenue, and opportunities for farmers, small businesses, and patients.

Final Puff

Missouri proves what’s possible when voters take charge and demand a fair, regulated cannabis market. Tennessee? We’re missing out on billions in revenue, thousands of jobs, and much-needed community funding.

It’s time to stop letting outdated laws and powerful lobbies hold us back. Tennessee deserves better — and the people know it.

What is Delta 9?

Delta-9 refers to delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol , commonly known as THC . [Updated Nov. 15, 2025] Delta-9 Molecule  What Is Delta-9? Delta-9 THC is a naturally occurring chemical compound found in the cannabis plant. It belongs to a family of plant chemicals called cannabinoids, which are produced in the plant’s resin glands (the trichomes). At the molecular level, Delta-9 is an organic molecule made of carbon, hydrogen, and oxygen with the formula C₂₁H₃₀O₂. What defines it — and gives it its name — is the placement of a double bond on the ninth carbon atom in its molecular chain. That structural feature is what separates it from similar cannabinoids like Delta-8 or Delta-10. In the cannabis plant, Delta-9 forms through the breakdown of THC-A (tetrahydrocannabinolic acid) when it’s exposed to heat, drying, or aging. This process is called decarboxylation. Delta-9 is considered the primary and most abundant form of THC found in traditional marijuana strains and is a major c...

Research has shown that marihuana has therapeutic value in treating many medical conditions, including cancer, multiple sclerosis , PTSD , opioid addiction , and anxiety . By legalizing marihuana, Tennessee can offer citizens much-needed reli...

How Does THCA Convert to THC?

The process that converts THCA (Tetrahydrocannabinolic Acid) into THC (Tetrahydrocannabinol) is known as, DECARBOXYLATION. A hemp plant with vibrant green leaves, showcasing a single, glistening THCA crystal nestled among the buds. Decarboxylation is a chemical reaction that occurs when THCA is exposed to heat, light, or aging. During this process, the carboxyl group (COOH) is removed from the THCA molecule, converting it to THC. The steps of the decarboxylation process are: 1. Heat application: Applying heat, such as through smoking, vaporizing, or baking, provides the energy needed to initiate the decarboxylation reaction. 2. Carboxyl group removal: The heat causes the carboxyl group (COOH) to be released from the THCA molecule, leaving behind the THC molecule. The chemical reaction can be represented as: THCA → THC + CO2 Where the carbon dioxide (CO2) is the byproduct released during the decarboxylation. This conversion of THCA to THC is important because: • THC is the primary psyc...
